3 Months

Hello there! I am now about 3 months old and getting bigger by the minute. I can roll over from my front to back, I like to smile and show my dimple a lot and I am babbling quite a bit these days (especially to myself in the mirror!)
I love my big brother and watch him all the time. He sure does have a lot of energy. He is my protector from the big people at his school. Well, I guess it is my school too, since I will be going there in a few weeks and mommy and daddy will be headed to the poor house. Oh how I love them so....Enjoy the pictures, mommy decided to do some more psycho photography trying to capture that perfect shot of me and the family. Maybe one day mom, maybe one day! Til next time....Merry Christmas and happy New Year! Love, Kelsey

9 Weeks Old...

Well, I am now a little over 9 weeks old and have changed so much in such a short time. Mommy took me to the doctor yesterday and all went well, other than the 4 shots I had to get in my tiny (chunk) legs. Whoever thought it was a good idea to stick a sharp needle in your body is sadly mistaken. After a few tears and many screams, I made it through the ordeal. The Doctor says I am doing great and growing fast...ready for this?? I weigh 13 pounds (90-97th percentile, among my many other baby friends) and am 23 1/2" long (90th percentile). I guess mommy and daddy are feeding me well!

I love my tummy time and can even do mini push ups to make me stronger. I am staying awake longer during the day and sleeping for 4-5 hour stretches at night. I am still sleeping in my papason swing thingy that mommy takes me upstairs in every night and puts it in my crib. I don't like sleeping on my back AT ALL, so since I can't be put to bed on my tummy (which I LOVE and would sleep FOREVER), the papason chair will have to do.

I smile a lot at my big brother Ryan, he is funny and very nice to me. He tries to calm me down when I cry, bounces me in my bouncy seat and swings me in my swing. He also watches over me and makes sure none of his classmates poke me when we go to pick him up from school. Such a protective big brother. Mommy says I will be thankful for that when I am older.

Mommy says Ryan is growing up too fast and he is such a sweet boy, but a little devil at the same time. He is now 39" tall and will be able to ride more roller coasters at Kings Dominion next year. (What is a roller coaster?) Anyway, he loves school and has lots of friends. He can be very mean to mommy and daddy and mommy actually caught him sticking his tongue out at her behind her back the other day. She was not happy with him at all!!! For the most part though he is a good boy, so funny and full of life and imagination. He sure makes us all laugh and amazes us with his memory and ability to comprehend so much. He is learning his letters and can even write them. He can count to 30 (with a little help), can count to 10 in spanish, knows his colors in spanish and knows all of the Nascar race car drivers! He also knows his name and address. He sure is smart and amazes mommy and daddy every day. I hope I grow up to be just like him!

Well, my little fingers sure are tired from typing, so I am going to sign off for now. Stay tuned...

1 Month old!!!

Well, I am 1 month old today. What an interesting 1st month outside of mommy's belly! I have met so many people and seen so many new things, it is all a bit much to take in...that is why I sleep sooooo much! It has been a rough week, I guess I am going through some growing pains, but I am hanging in there, trying to con my mommy into a new feeding schedule (I don't think it is working, she might be on to me), exercising my lungs, looking at the backs of my eyelids quite a bit (but not as much at night as mommy would like me to) and wondering who this other little person is in the house who is always kissing me and telling me it is going to be ok. Mommy says it is my big brother Ryan, but I don't know what that means. All I know is he is always in my face or fighting me for mommy or daddy's lap, and I know he says he loves me a lot and is proud he is a big brother.

Mommy wanted to pretend she knows how to use her camera and take some pics of me at one month sitting on my brother's lap...Since she can pretend, I guess it is ok for me to pretend I am sleeping!!!

Til next time....

XOXO

This little piggy went to market!

BIG Princess...well, there is no doubt she is an eater! We went to the doctor today to get her little belly button checked out. After they carterized (is that how you spell it?) it, it should heal nicely from this point forward. Still has to get the sponge baths until things heal completely. While we were there, I got her weighed...any guesses? Ok, she was 7 lb 5.5 oz when we went to her 1st doctor visit on 9.22 and today (21 days later) she is weighing in at an amazing 9 lb 10.5 oz. ARE YOU KIDDING? What a little piggy :) Needless to say all is well and she is eating and growing just fine! HAHA!!

She is here!!

Welcome to the world, Kelsey Olivia Grant! Born, happy and healthy on Wednesday, 9.17.2008 at 8:06 am, weighing in at 7 lb 9 oz and measuring 19 3/4" in length. Knock on wood, so far she is such a good baby. Eats like a little piggy and sleeps like a little angel. Ryan is adjusting well, a few speed bumps to overcome along the way, but that is to be expected. Thankfully, mom and dad are here to help during my recovery...that's the not so fun part, but I am making it and getting better each day. Here are a few pics, enjoy :)

VA Safari Park

Grampie and Grammie took us to the VA Safari Park near Lexington, VA over the weekend. It was an action packed weekend with the little ones, feeding the animals at the drive thru safari (to include zebra, ostrich, elk, camels, bison, etc...some of them actually sticking their heads IN the car!!!). Here are a few pics, enjoy!

4D Ultrasound - AMAZING!!!

This was the most incredible experience. Ryan went with us and he was in awe to see his baby sister moving all around, blinking her eyes and sleeping!
