We had an action packed August and beginning of September...we went to Corolla with friends (and nannies!), we splashed around in the pool, went to the NASCAR races, went to the river and then prepared for school to start. I did NOT like the waves, but loved to play in the sand and swim in the pool. Ryan LOVED the ocean, the boogie board, the sand and everything around him!
I started a new class this month, moving up to the terrific tugboats and am learning so many new things already. I can count to ten in Spanish, know my colors and my ABC's and all my nursery rhymes. I am drinking out of a normal cup (with very few spills) and love to sing and dance, make silly faces, act goofy like my Mommy and push my brothers buttons. I am finally growing out of my daily (hourly) tantrums which makes home life much easier for mommy and daddy, but don't worry I still have my fair share when I don't get my way! Oh yeah, I am also going pee pee in the potty!!!! Lots of new things for me :)
Ryan started Kindergarten this month, going to William Fox down in the fan and he loves his new friends and seems to like his teacher, Ms. Mitchell. He picked out a VA Tech backpack (that is bigger than him) all by himself to make his mommy proud. There are only 16 kids in his class, which is outstanding and I think he said only 3 of them are girls!!! Some of his friends are Arlo, Nolen, Isaac and Grayson and know we will be hearing about more throughout the year. He gets to eat lunch in the big cafeteria (hasn't bought lunch yet, but we are working on that), gets to go to art class, PE, music class, Spanish class and so much more. Mommy and daddy seem to be happy with things so far, but find it funny that Mary Mumford JUST called a few days ago to say they had a spot for Ryan if he was still interested...yes it would be more convenient and it was our first choice, but we would never pull him from school 1 week into the new year. Silly people, so silly.
The day flies by for mommy since she is driving all over town and then to work for what seems like a few minutes to then leave again to pick us up, but loves that she is home with us by 4pm and able to play with us, unwind, make dinner and all that good stuff before daddy gets home.
Daddy is working a lot out of town these days, but business is going well (that's what he tells me) so all is well on that front. His baseball team won the playoffs and he is going to play fall baseball again, so hopefully we will get to go see some more games. We watched some videos of him playing baseball from when he was 12 or 13 and we all laughed so hard...my how times have changed! We did get to see Dawn in the video holding Brittany in a baby carrier which was heartwarming and then a few years later Brittany (probably age 3 or so) holding baby Victoria! Good memories...
Until next time...when I will be 2!!! Kelsey (Ryan, Amy & Dean)
